The reports are short & concise; "Hurricane Frances is coming to the Sunshine State."
This
report is totally indifferent to the fact that the Amelia Island
Sailing Club (AISC) is planning a cruise to St. Augustine at the same
time Frances is calling. Okay for the 2nd time this year we strip the
canvas off the boat, double the dock lines and decide to wait the storm
out.
What to do in the mean time? Capt. Butch, our cruise
director, who by the way can always be counted on as a boredom
eliminator, suggests a Hurricane Party with Force 4 Hurricane Punch for
all. He even suggests a prize for the best concocted Hurricane Punch.
On
Friday evening under a beautiful dark sky filled with a cornucopia of
white, gray and black shaded clouds, enough wind to eliminate the bugs,
and a waning moon, Jimmy Buffet music emanates from boom box.
The party begins!
